I can't believe it's only been two weeks since Daddy came home... It seems like longer than that, wow. We've been busy, though; one of his buddies runs this custom cycle shop and offered him a job, and he agreed to hire me too, though I'm pretty sure he thinks I don't know shit about bikes. I mean, I don't know them as well as cars, but I'm not clueless, so I'll just have to show 'im, I guess.

....Then Daddy went out and bought a dog. This big old ugly thing that drools everywhere! He's actually kinda sweet, honestly, but he freaks Laserboy out and she almost set him on fire the first day so he's living at the garage now, so that actually worked out pretty well.

Oh, and I talked Daddy into naming him Bonecrusher, haha. I think it's fitting.

Pearl, your party's still tomorrow, right? When do you want me to come?

Hey Sam...?

It had been a challenge, to put together a family barbecue in less than a week, but Mikaela had managed it. Granted, only a few of her aunts and uncles had been able to make it, but she figured that that was for the best. Like Mr. Edgeworth had said, throwing some huge party would probably not be the best thing for her dad, not right after he came home.

But her and her mom, and some of their family, that would be fine. Or so she hoped.

The lake was surprisingly deserted for a Saturday, particularly the corner they'd found to set up the grill and all the food, which was a blessing. Not too many strangers to crowd them, or to complain about the music Bumblebee was kind enough to provide.

Speaking of... Daddy was occupied at the grill, talking to Mom, her little cousins were playing in the water, and her aunts and uncles were standing around the table, gossiping over the potato salad. Mikaela figured it was okay to slip over and hang out with the Autobot for a while.

I can't believe tomorrow's the last day of my last year of high school. I mean, like. I dunno, it seems like I just had two weeks to go! And now there's....a day.

And graduation on Saturday. And then...summer.

Sam's already applying to colleges. Ila's got that internship with that place out in Nevada. I dunno what I'm gonna do... I mean, it's like, by the time I manage to take the SATs it'll be too late for college, and we can't afford it anyway...

I guess I'll get a job? 'S better than nothing, and there should be places hiring. I'll hafta start looking next week.

It could be worse though, yeah? I mean, I could still be stuck in a hospital bed, or, like, stuck in that stupid wheelchair, or something. At least now I can get up on my feet and walk my graduation.

So. That's nice.

Sam was okay with me going to the gala thing on Friday. I just told him I had plans through the community, and he seemed okay with it. A little hurt, maybe, that I wouldn't drop Bruce to hang out with him, but he understood.

So thanks for a good time, Bruce! I really had fun, and this dress is gorgeous, really. I think my mom's getting suspicious; first the Lambo and now this?

Is this virus over? I'm not gonna lie, I'm not sorry I missed this one. Just being on DDD is like being stuck in a musical, sometimes, haha.

Oh, and speaking of musicals--Apollo, it's been a week. I want my car back.

Sam wants to go out and do something on Friday.

Ty Lee's here again! My room's all smushed with the cot in here, but I really don't mind. It's like a sleepover! Only it never ends, hahah. And Laserboy still sleeps with me~ Good kitten.

Y'know what I just realized, guys? I'm gonna be eighteen in, like, a month!

The Autobots are still working on their, like, homebase. Sam and I help 'em as much as we can, but we still haven' really told out parents, and we can't exactly disappear out into the desert every day. 'Sides, between Optimus and Ratchet and the Army guys all working on it, we'd probably just get in the way.

It's good to be able to go out there with 'Bee and do what we can, though, y'know? We owe a lot to the Autobots.

Sorry I disappeared so suddenly, everybody. Sam and 'Bee and I decided to rock Vegas, and we figured it'd be a little better to go in the middle of the week instead of over the weekend. Fewer people, we figured, y'know?

Anyway, it was a fun time, though I'm, like, completely broke now. I really need to see if I can't get, like, a part-time job or something, put a little money in my pockets. Maybe convince one of my aunts that my cousins need a babysitter or something, that'd be good.

Laserboy appears not to have melted anything in my absence, and was so happy to see me get back, it was ridiculously adorable. I doubt Jimmy even knew I was gone, haha.

Ugh, I've got finals all next week. Not fun, but at least it's only half-days of school, and then I'm free for the summer! I can hang out with 'Bee and Sam every day, and Ratchet can finally start teaching me some of the stuff I need to know about how Cybertronians work, and I can maybe visit some of my friends, and it'll all be awesome!

So, while I'm "studying" for my English final--no, I am! I swear!--here's a meme I nicked from Al.

Jimmy's still doing good, by the way. I brought him to Sam's house yesterday for a field trip and he got to crawl around in the grass. I think he likes going to Sam's, haha.
